Breakfast with a view
Breakfast is probably our favourite meal. A new dawn, a new day, and endless possibilities lie ahead.
Even if you’re not a morning person; we guarantee these breakfasts with a view are worth setting the alarm for.
Wake up to the best views in Ethiopia, France, Italy, Namibia, and Turkey.
Sitting high a-top Ethiopia’s Simien mountains is likely the most special breakfast the country has to offer. This delicious feast is organised on request for guests at Limalimo Lodge, an incredible 12 room boutique hotel. Sleeping in such a spectacular location certainly has the wow-factor, but this breakfast is on a whole other level (quite literally).

This is the one breakfast on our list that doesn’t come courtesy of a hotel. Welcome to Cordes-sur-Ciel in Toulouse. The cute French hill-top town was built in 1222, and every corner brings another special view and photo opportunity, but this breakfast view exceeded all others. Head to Place de la Bride in the town centre where there are a few restaurants to chose from.
The Michelin star AROMA restaurant on the top floor of Rome’s Palazzo Manfredi, is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular places to dine in the Italian city. But it is at breakfast time that we really love it. As the sun’s rays appear, setting both the morning sky and the ancient Colosseum alight, there really is no place we’d rather be. Breakfast at this special city-centre restaurant is open to non-guests as well; call and book in advance.
Turkey’s Cappadocia ‘fairy chimneys’ (unique, tall, rock formations) are fantastic to see at any time of the day. But at breakfast, this charismatic region of Central Anatolia really comes alive. Hot air balloon riders soar above as you fill-your-boots with Sultan Cave Suites’ organic breakfast of home-cooked food. Try the Pekmez, a locally made syrup, renowned in the region for its healing powers.

The Namib-Naukluft National Park in Namibia is a sight to behold, but perhaps never better than when enjoyed with a hearty and healthy breakfast. This is &Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge, where breakfast is served with a side of the Namib desert’s clay plans and deep red sand dunes. Wake up early to enjoy the views with just you (and the birds) for company.
Croissants, baguettes, tartines and cafe au lait; we already know the French do breakfast well. But for the breakfast of a lifetime book into one of the many Eiffel view rooms or suits at the city’s Shangri-La hotel. For a private breakfast with an iconic view, it doesn’t get better than this.
